17th Century Townhouse

A house model produced in Maya designed to be typical of town houses common to the 17th century. To facilitate dialogue between the house’s inhabitant and the player, a view port is present in the front door which would slide back when interacted with in game. The model can stand alone in the level, or be repeated into a terrace or row, increasing flexibility for level design purposes. An additional texture for the house was created featuring the iconic red cross and quotation used during the Great Plague to indicate a house contained plague victims. Research was conducted into the relevant architecture of the time period to ensure an historically accurate asset that could also fulfil the needs of the game and level design. Created as part of “Eucrasia”, my Final Project for my Masters degree. Modelled in Maya, textured and rendered in Substance Painter.
